What am I allowed to ask before my lifestyle boudoir photo session?

If you’ve never done anything like lifestyle boudoir photography before, you’re probably wondering what’s okay to ask.

Short answer? Pretty much everything.

But because most people feel like they should already know, those questions often stay unspoken. And that’s a shame—because the best way to feel confident is to ask.

Here’s what you’re absolutely allowed to ask before a session—especially if you’re thinking of booking with me here in Switzerland.

Do I have to go fully nude for lifestyle boudoir?

No. Lifestyle boudoir isn’t about showing everything—it’s about feeling at ease in your body. However, some level of undressing is part of the experience. This is lifestyle boudoir—not a regular portrait session. Nudity is absolutely an option, but it’s never required. Some clients go fully nude, others stop at lingerie, and some choose to wear a loose item over the lingerie. What matters is that you feel like you: you choose what feels good. I photograph you with elegance and intention, never exposure for the sake of it.

Can I bring personal items, like a scarf or notebook?

Yes. Your lifestyle boudoir photos should reflect you. That includes the small things: a well-worn pair of boots, a scarf with meaning, a jacket you always reach for—or something less expected, like your favorite book, a pair of roller skates, a vintage camera, or even a cup you drink from every morning.

These kinds of personal items help you settle into the space, and they add real depth to your images.

What if I feel awkward the whole time?

Then you’re perfectly normal. Most people do, at first. That’s why we take our time.

There is some posing, yes—but it’s relaxed and guided, never forced. I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll find a rhythm that feels natural. No one feels awkward the whole time—at some point, something changes. And often, the most powerful moments happen when you're not trying at all.

Can we take breaks?

Absolutely. There’s no rush. If you need to pause, breathe, or reset, we do that. The session is built around you—not a timeline.

What if I don’t like a pose or want to stop?

Then we change direction. Nothing is mandatory. You’re always in charge of your comfort. I suggest, you decide.

Can I talk to you ahead of time about what I’m nervous about?

Please do. That’s what our pre-session call is for. Tell me what’s on your mind—whether it’s about your body, your comfort, or anything else. The more I know, the better I can shape the session to feel good for you.

Can I show up without a plan?

Not entirely. You don’t need to know exactly how you want it to look—but I do ask a few things beforehand.

I’ll send you a short questionnaire to understand what you want to get out of the session, and I’ll ask you to share a few images you’re drawn to. That might be a Pinterest board or just a handful of photos you like. It helps me understand your mindset and make the session feel right for you. We’ll still figure a lot out together on the day—but we don’t go in blind.

Are these sessions only for certain types of people?

No. I work with all genders, all body types, all backgrounds.

If you're looking to use this photo session as a tool for body acceptance, reflection, or personal celebration—this space is for you.

My kind of boudoir: slower, softer, more you

I work with clients across Switzerland (and Italy) who want something honest, unfiltered, and deeply personal. My kind of boudoir isn’t about looking sexy. It’s about feeling seen.
